Barclays Premier switch is back at 25,000 Avios

Looks like the 25k avios offer when you switch to Barclays Premier is back. Just received an email from BA with the following. Good timing for me…

Here’s how it works:
Collect 25,000 Avios if you’re a new Barclays customer and complete a full switch via the Current Account Switch Service within 3 months4 (or collect 2,500 Avios if you have been with Barclays for 4 months or more)
Then watch 1,500 Avios roll in every single month and keep rolling in
Eligibility, conditions and a £12 monthly fee apply.

Wondering if the 100k offer may make a reappearance also…?

So useless for those of us with Avios card? 25k definitely a lot less generous than their previous 100k offer, which is surprising for the income requirements

I think it’s just the usual poorly worded email, ie when it says new to Barclays it means you don’t have an existing current account, not that you don’t have any product. Of course it’s best to wait until it shows on Barclays website when ‘hopefully’ it might be clearer…

That 25k switching bonus has been there the whole time; it never went away and the terms haven’t changed. https://www.barclays.co.uk/premier-banking/barclays-avios-rewards/

It’s different to the 100k offer which was for opening two products or a second one you didn’t already have, and if that second product was the Premier account the overall offer was 125k Avios.

During the 100k offer, they didn’t actually require a switch, but when the offer is on a standalone basis, they will.

I recently had a Barclays premier account and had the Avios subscription too

I had the account for a year so got the annual gift plus the 25k welcome bonus for having the avios subscription

I switched banks to NatWest last month (Barclays premier account is closed) to take advantage of the 200 switch

If I rejoin Barclays premier and do a switch etc and join avois subscription will I get the welcome bonus again (25k)

I’ve looked through all the T&C can’t work out whether I’ll get it or not . I would be a new customer as such but

Any advice appreciated

Well the terms do refer to being eligible for the bonus for your ‘first’ Barclays account so they would be perfectly entitled not to pay but you can’t really ask them to check!
