Hi guys, I have a couple of questions, Am i allowed to refer my dad to the BAPP card and get the bonus points? (we live in the same house). Also i know the 70,000 points offer ends on 21st Feb, does it only start when he receives the card or from the moment he applies?

Also, if i add a supplementary to my BAPP card (for the 3k bonus points) does my partner actually get a physical card or is it just a digital card type thing and how long would they have to wait to receive it?

Finally, if i buy stuff on my amex BAPP and then return the items, does it still count towards my £3000 spend within 3 months amount? And do i keep any bonus avios i might receive by going through the BA executive portal to shop?

    Thanks

The 70k offer has to be applied for via the specific link, not via referral.
If you get a refund, any avios associated with the purchase are clawed back by Amex (and probably also by the e store from your BA account eventually) If they have already been transferred to your BA account you will just end up with a negative balance, so you need to decide if that works for you. You’ll need to spend the extra to get the 241 though, if that’s the plan.
Your wife will get a physical card which she’ll need to register separately and will get her own offers. All spending counts though.

    Ok great, thanks

If i get a card for my dad, can i transfer all the 70,000 points to my account if he hits the £3000 spend within 3 months?

You can transfer avios for a fee but I think there’s a limit. Rob did an article on this recently. The easiest way to use your dad’s avios would be to be in a household account with him. They will be automatically transferred to his BAEC account each month.
I think you need to read the HFP guides to all this stuff!

Great, thanks for clearing that up. 27,000 Points max i can transfer per year. I think that might sway my decision as it would take 3 years to get all the points out unless i had a house hold BAEC account with him

What card would people suggest i take out next? I will finish my BAPP £3000 spend off early next week and can probably spend another £3000 within the next 3 months. I dont think we will hit the £10k spend and my partner can’t take out any cards yet because she’s applying for a mortgage. So only i can take out another card (which the next £3000 will be spent on, because we are booking more airline tickets, which needs to be done asap)

Someone suggested the Amex platinum (50,000 points if i get referred by Rob) Will i be eligable for that if i’ve already held a BAPP card this year?

    Thanks
