Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Best BA A380 seat for solo traveller in CW

  • 273 posts

Hi, asked this Q yesterday on chat thread but can’t see a reply….trying again. I have never flown A380 as a solo traveller….

I am flying the A380 from ORD, couldn’t make the timings work for the other flight. As a solo traveller I read this: https://www.headforpoints.com/2020/07/01/best-seats-on-british-airways-a380/

I have selected 56J so far. It is a night flight and not worried about a window seat – just no-one stepping over me. Any other suggestions?

If you want to sleep undisturbed without people stepping over you then window seats are better. 56J doesn’t have anyone stepping over you but you’re in the aisle and right by the toilets/galley, so there’s going to be a relatively high footfall passing you. If you go for 59k then not only are you away from all that traffic but you don’t even need to step over anyone to get in/out of your own seat.

Avoid row 59 lest you want to risk being kept awake by the shrieks of babies from the WTP cabin. My favourites are 53A/K. Also consider row 10 downstairs.

Upstairs it’s 53A/K or 59A/K. Downstairs it’s 15A/K. All are window seats with direct access, and the huge side bins upstairs. 53K is personal favourite. One thing to note is all these seats are rear facing, which I prefer, but not everyone’s choice.

If you don’t like a window then 53E and 59E are solo centre seats with direct access either left or right.

Thanks all. Looked at the Aerolopa plan and indeed 56 J is right next to lavatory.

53 / 59 are all gone already. I’ve switched to 10B. Thanks again.

Personally I like the middle seat of three on the upper deck. No one climbs over you. You might have to climb over someone to get in or out, but if the flight is not full you may have an empty seat next to you.

The upper deck is quieter than the main deck, and the J cabins are smaller.

A window seat on the upper feck gives you additional storage.
