I will be staying at the Premiere Inn at LHR T4.

Last time I stayed there I had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was not particularly good. I was wondering if it is worth eating at one of the neighbouring hotels. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The one in the combined CP/HIEX is decent, we ate there while staying this summer. It also got the HFP thumbs up!

Yes, my money would be on the Crowne Plaza one.

I personally really like the Hilton restaurant – the ambiance, design and food are great. Recommend the fish and chips.

I was at the HIEX last week and skipped the CP restaurant, recent reviews seem to suggest it’s gone downhill. Walked along to the Hilton to eat at OXBO. Food and drink was all very good and reasonably enough priced.

Make a booking though – the place was half empty and they were turning people away. They seemed to be struggling with staffing (nearly 20 mins to have my order taken). Overheard one waiter (rather rudely I thought) blaming it on guests from other hotels!

I’ve been to the HI/CP a couple of times recently, and they also seem to have staffing issues. Last time the place was nearly empty but we had to wait for 20 minutes in the lobby and then another 15-20 minutes after being seated for our order to be taken. Next time, we intend to order our food in the bar (as it seems to be the same menu and the ambience and decor is way better than the restaurant – which I find feels rather dead).

Agreed, the CP restaurant is a depressing place but the bar is nice and buzzy.

I’ve eaten in the CP bar a couple of times (even managed to use my F&B vouchers!).

Food was good Ams came quickly and more importantly reasonably priced.

HIX also its own ‘dining’ area and bar (behind you as you check in) which is a bit cafe-like (order at the bar) but the curry was very quick, and actually very good.
