Best use of Emirates Skywards

We have about 80k between two of us — can top up with Amex MR but wondering if anyone knows the best routes for buying economy & upgrading with miles? Eg any European starting points? Paris to Dubai often seems better than from LHR for example. Thank you!

Check DUB too. There’s not a massive local market for premium cabins and the cash cost is as bad as the UK. Whereas points earning credit cards don’t exist in Ireland so you’re only competing against those eho earned theirs from flying. The problem being though that DUB is served by the 777 and I wouldn’t waste my cash or points on that substandard J cabin. Solution – fly in F
