So we are moving house and having to get some
Work done immediately to it – essentially between exchange and completion – we will have a specific contract drawn up for this period. The work is 30k of which the deposit is half. I plan to use section 75 protection (max limit I know) and put at least some of it in a card. The rest can be bank transfer if required.
Now the rub is that the money to pay it off comes from the house move and so there’s a crossover period which is over a month maybe 2. I don’t want to be in a position due to a delay when I suddenly an staring down a 15k bill without the money being there so I need to future proof it for a bit longer like up to 3 months.
I have most of the cards on here – multiple Amex, virgin, hsbc, Barclaycard, curve etc all with suitable limits but was wanting to use the collective wisdom of HFP to try and avoid a fee or getting a purchase card that i don’t earn anything on neither?
Suggestions?
Cheers,
R
You could put it on a Reward card, probably not an Amex, and then transfer it to 0% card offer thereafter. You could put up to £5,000 through Curve and go Back in Time prior to the payment date.
