Any tricks to getting a good price for Hilton Labriz, want 10 days in November. Using Avios booking to fly, so a BAH booking won’t work.
Choosing the Labriz over other hotels for good restaurant choices for a fussy pescatarian, so any food reviews also useful.
The Hilton Labriz is definitely one hotel punching above its weight. All villa hotel, with basic villas of a very decent size. Why not buy Hilton points (there is 100% bonus) ands book with points?
Food is not relatively good. If you’re gold or Diamond, you can opt to have breakfast at the Italian restaurant where it’s all a la carte. You can order anything you’d like and as much as you’d like. A far better place than the buffet restaurant. Alcohol is expensive there, so if you fancy sitting on the veranda watching the sea, I woudl recommend to bring some good quality wines with you. A really nice place.
Are you flying Qatar?
I meant to say food is relatively good, but not outstanding. The local dishes are very, very tasty, but anything European, they struggle.

Looks like a mix of Qatar and BA is all I can find at the moment.
Will look at buying points, thanks for the tip. Not sure how to get gold without creating stays for the sake of it.

Amex Plat or Biz Plat and cancel for pro rata refund as soon as status confirmed would do the trick, £50 for 10 breakfasts for two, providing you’re not too concerned about your relationship with Amex.
If you are wanting to keep Amex happy then you’re getting 10 free breakdasts AND the dining credits if you retain the card so the maths still basically takes care of itself just on that, with the other benefits a bonus…
Also, you want to do the maths. If points are worth buying. Some days no standard villa available on points.
Wow – just looked at this and it seems a fantastic redemption – 275,000 points for 10 nights in a standard beach front villa in November (as per @Tracey ‘s ask above) instead of Euro 5,520 (£4,957) for the members flex rate with breakfast!
In the current sale you can pick up 80,000 points + 80,000 bonus for USD800 (£660). This gives a cost of 0.41p per point at current exchange rate, a little higher than the HfP valuation, but still giving you this 10 day stay for the equivalent of £1,135 or £113.50 a night if you buy all the points needed – BARGAIN 🙂
Combine with a decent J class redemption (and as @The Savage Squirrel said Hilton Gold status via Amex Plat) and you have a true HfP high end holiday hack ! Enjoy @Tracey … I am adding this to the Trotter bucket list.
Strike my previous comment – it is 275,000 points PER NIGHT!!! Not a bargain at all so sorry if I wasted any of your time @Tracey (or indeed anyone else)…
Standard villas are around 90,000 points. But finding those redemptions are not so easy.
U made me look Trotter! Standard nights are 90k although seems pretty rare (unless you are travelling soon). if you can get 10 nights at standard rates, it should still make sense to buy points vs cash rates in Nov. The 5f4 helps.
Thanks all.
Looking at the oasis garden villa with pool. We have now secured the flights, so need 7 nights rather than 10.
It seems there is a restriction on buying points, can only buy 80k (+80k bonus) so we only have 225k all together.
Tracey, that’s 80k+80k in promotion per person, if there’s 2 of you buy the maximum points each then pool them into one account for free.

Is that just a question of OH having a Hilton account, buying the bonus, and then they
can transfer them instantly? Thanks!Tracey, that’s 80k+80k in promotion per person, if there’s 2 of you buy the maximum points each then pool them into one account for free.

I think there is also a minimum time the account needs to be open before you can buy points as well.
Interesting. We could open another account, wait and transfer.
Is there a way of seeing what reward nights are available before buying the extra points. The last thing I need is to buy points I can’t spend.

Look at the hotel, select flexible dates in the calendar and make sure Use Points is ticked. This will allow you to look at all dates in the calendar based on the length of stay.
For a Hilton stay like this, you may be tempted to get Amex Platinum for a month, activate the Hilton Gold status (thus getting you free breakfast for the full stay) and then cancelling the card. Fee pro-ratas to £50 per month and you cover that (with a profit) by using your £50 Harvey Nichols credit and £150 UK dining credit before cancelling (potentially even your £150 international dining credit too if you time it right).
Here now! We ended up spending real money.
Also didn’t want to upset the Amex applecart, so only silver HH, but on our first morning we were invited to use the Italian restaurant for breakfasts, so that was a win.
This stay will be enough to get gold.
Let us know how you like it, @Tracey. Seychelles is on my list but BA doesn’t fly there any more and I think the QR flight from DOH is something horrendous like 2.30 am so I’m vacillating!

We had to cancel a direct booking with BA during covid, so we’re determined to get here. As you say, we flew via DOH, not ideal but not terrible. Stayed awake for the first flight. 2 hours in the decent lounge at DOH and then slept for most of the second flight. Treated ourselves to the 13 minute helicopter to Silhouette island.
If you can’t get a good deal at Labriz, or want to split your stay, don’t dismiss the Hilton Northolme. It’s a wonderful hotel full of character
Labriz was a success, restaurants particularly good for dinner. Only one lunchtime bar/ restaurant that was “alright”. Villas are spacious and well equipped. Excellent beach with no hawkers.
Only downside was the sand flies, bitten to pieces even with max strength deet.
Transfers from airport are efficient. We took the helicopter out and ferry+ taxi back. Both were fine.
For anyone looking at Seychelles Hilton properties, I would just wait until the new Waldorf opens up for bookings soon (and if it’s anything like the Waldorf Maldives, points villas will be wide open to begin with then turn into gold dust). The renders look like it is being specced to almost rival the Waldorf Maldives.
I also had a brief stay at the Mango House LXR in September – it was perfectly fine and a good value redemption at 110k points a night. Albeit totally overshadowed by the rest of my vacation at the Four Seasons Desroches which far, far exceeded my expectations and was true bucket list castaway island territory.
We did that resort last year although paid money for it via Kuoni. The hotel manager is a really nice guy and we talked to him for a couple of hours over the 10 days.
I liked the resort, but had a beach view pool villa and the water was cold for August.
Despite the booking via Kuoni we got all the HH Gold benefits and that’s not usual I have found.
Right now at Amingiri Maldives on a 550k points redemption for a beach villa – amazing value for money but food is $$$.
