Anyone ventured through BHX recently and can share their experience please? 🙂
A few times in recent weeks, but only without any checked baggage and using the fast track security lane. I always either arrive by train or park at the train station so I can use mono rail straight to security level. It has generally been fine, however I was there for a 7am flight on a Sunday two weeks ago and the standard security line, at approx. 6am, was horrendous.

I suspect that would have been the start of the half term school break, which obviously is something of a canary in the coal mine when it comes to Easter and the summer…

I’ve been through BHX departures twice in the last two months and it’s been crazy fast and easy to get through compared to how it was last year.
Admittedly, these have been afternoon flights rather than the peak AM times, but I got through security within around 10 minutes of going through the terminal doors each time.
Now you don’t have to take anything out of your bags (liquids, electronics), you leave it all in and it just goes straight through the scanners.It’s really like night and day compared to how it used to be.
Interestingly, even though I had Fast Track both times it didn’t seem to make any difference as I went through the same lanes as everyone else (I couldn’t even see any separate fast track lane on the way to security check).Reassuring. Thanks all. I will be there after lunch today. Will feed back

For those still following! It looks like the airport have finally realised that passenger volume > lift capacity, and have added a new staircase. It’s to the left of the lifts (as you look at them) and set slightly back because they have built it outside where the pavement was. It’s very much got a semi-permanent add-on vibe, but at least now we have the extra capacity and route to departures/train station.
