Has anyone ever had any luck with bidding for upgrades?
I’ve got Virgin JFK and Aer Lingus Orlando flights in the next few months and both have the bid option.
I’ve pitched my bid low for the daytime flights and higher for overnight, when I’d appreciate the bed more!
Anyone ever won one of these bids?
Yes, I was travelling on points in Economy from Barbados back to Manchester in March this year with my partner and bid £160 per ticket (the lowest possible bid) to be upgraded from Economy to Premium. It was accepted about 48 hours before the flight. Quite a bargain compared with the ridiculous cash ticket prices at the time.
In PE to and from Cape Town in November. Minimum bid for upgrade to Upper is £1000 per person per flight, so £4k!
