Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Booking a 241 Companion Voucher flight at 355 days

Am looking to go to Miami next Easter so the first available flights from London are dropping into view. If I book the outbound as a one way using a CV the taxes etc are £1,100. When the return becomes available do I call BA directly to tie it to my CV and what will be the total taxes ie if I booked a return the taxes etc are circa £1600 so when I add my return would I get charged an additional £500 or will they hit me with £1,100 again ?

If you book the return leg online you can get back the extra avios but NOT the taxes. If you call and ask BA to add the return leg, they should recalculate the taxes so you don’t end up paying over the odds, however obviously you are dependent on getting through on the phone before the seats go. The surcharges each way are different so you’d have to check the exact amount they quote you. There are a couple of HFP articles about the best way of doing this.
