I have a companion voucher to use before end of April 2024, we want to fly to Lanzarote but those flights dont seem to be released yet for April. Does anyone know when these flights will be released. Flying from Gatwick preferably. Thanks
Someone asked this the other day – I think they were released quite late last year, maybe 2/3 months later than usual? This sometimes happens if BA is still finalising the summer schedules at this point, especially on leisure routes.
If it’s a new-style BAPP voucher, you could use it on Iberia though this would necessitate a change at MAD or BCN.
It always seems a waste to use a comp voucher on short haul unless flight prices are really high.
Why not look at Mexico where its usually easy to get seats in economy, premium or business.
Internal flights to the west coast are quite cheap too . One of my daughter’s went in Feb and the other one is there now.It was around October last year I think but I’m imagine it might be earlier now they’re more established, they must lose some early bookings to Easyjet etc !
Personally I don’t find the long CE flights a bad use of a voucher, CE is a pleasant treat on the longer routes, usually quite expensive to pay cash for and and it’s quite a cash/Avios outlay to fly to Mexico or similar which not everyone wants to spend. Do need to crunch the numbers and make sure it’s worthwhile having the Amex vs the Barclays options though
Mexico is 190,000 avios + £900 in J with BA (Cancún or México DF). With Iberia through Madrid it is around 120,000 avios + £550. (For two people using the 241 voucher)
