Booking Hotel which is Both Mr & Mrs Smith and Marriott Autograph Collection

Does anyone have any experience or advice of booking a hotel which potentially falls into two different loyalty schemes, and the best way to maximise benefits and/or points earning?

I’m looking to book Domes Noruz Chania which is part of the Marriott Autograph Collection and Mr & Mrs Smith (which I can book through IHG). I’m only Gold at Marriott, but am Diamond Elite with IHG. I’ve yet to do any detailed price comparisons which might dictate my booking route, but is one way likely to be better at getting benefits than the other? I’m not expecting anything tangible via Marriott Gold, but not sure to what extent Mr & Mrs Smith recognise IHG status, especially when the hotel is a Marriott… I’m guessing not at all?

I have also considered going through Emyr, but as my booking is for Peak (early August) he’s intimated that I can’t guarantee any upgrades through him as it’ll only be “if available” which is unlikely at that time. And given that his rate is based on best flexible I think that it will likely be better for me to pay a non-flexible rate through either IHG or Marriott. Thoughts please?

The handful of Autograph hotels that are also on Mr and Mrs Smith are (or should be) excluded from ihg.com. I’d check booking direct, through Mr & Mrs, and through Marriott.

Thanks – you’re absolutely right, it’s not bookable through IHG. We’ve done the price comparison, and have decided to go through Emyr after all.
