Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Booking hotels via Executive Club agents

  • 1 post

    Hiya,
I recently made an avios flight booking over the phone and the agent mentioned calling back if I wanted to book any hotels – I can’t remember the wording exactly, but gave the impression they can apply discounts/perks/upgrades to hotel bookings.

Does anyone have any experience in doing this? I might test it against a hotel booking I have already made to see if they can offer any better than via Avios app, but wonder if there are any suggestions/pearls of wisdom people have?

I don’t but I assume they access the same stock as BA Holidays where I find pricing to be a mixed bag- sometimes significantly cheaper than a stand alone booking other times the same as going direct to the hotel. You will also miss out on status benefits and points if it’s a booking at one of the major chains. I would do some pricing up and then give them a call. Check the price they quote includes resort fees- with BA Holidays (certainly via the complex bookings route) they aren’t included in the total and not always obviously displayed either.

I always thought it was the same as the 10:1 Avios Hotels:

I use them whenever they are the same price as direct or other OTAs. Cancellation terms are not overly friendly as I recall there is always a fee, though they are at least up front about that now rather than the previous version of this.
