Discuss today's stories:
If BA are showing 2 seats available on executive club and Qatar are also showing 2 seats available on privilege club im assuming these are the same seats?
If they are and both airlines only have the same 2 mileage seats left and someone needed 3 seats in total then what would happen if at the exact same moment on 2 different computers someone booked the 3 seats (2 in exec and 1 in privilege).
Do u think the seat booking would go through?
They have plenty of cash seats available so im wondering what the outcome would be?
Cheers
You could test it for us and report back.
But even if you pressed the enter keys at the same time there would still be an infinitesimal lag with one booking getting processed before the other so I’d say one would go through but the other would be rejected.
They are the same seats.
The way ba.com works (can’t speak for Qatar) is that a seat in your basket is NOT really in your basket. It isn’t pulled from inventory until you fill in all your details and click ‘pay’.
This is also the reason why people ring the BA call centre at midnight to book Avios seats vs booking online. The call centre CAN hold seats whilst you give all your details which gives it a 60 second or so advantage over the website.
