Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Marriott Bonvoy Booking two rooms

    Could someone advise me please?
I need to book two rooms at a Marriott hotel (University Arms, Cambridge)for us and another couple who will being staying for a shorter time: we will arrive before them and leave after. My wife and I each have Gold status FWIW.
I think that the best way would be for each of us to book a room; I book in when we arrive and my wife books in when the friends arrive (or even earlier that morning) and gives them the room key.
Is this likely to cause a problem?

It’s what we’ve done a few times in various Marriotts when we’re staying with someone else who’s not a Bonvoy member. No problems so far, and I can’t see why there would be.

Thanks Matt. I forgot to say that we are paying with points.

You could just phone up to book in your friend’s name then, as you’d only lose out on the elite night credit. But your wife checking in would still be fine
