Usual story BA cancelled flights and eventually rebooked through call centre.
They could not put me in business on part of the return leg so settled for economy to get home same day. How do I recover the difference in flight price? FLights now completed but would like a refund.

If they’re not offering anything by way of compensation, EU261 affords you some rights – https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/passenger-rights/air/index_en.htm#upgradeAndDowngrade. The figures quoted should, I think, be applied to the fare and there needs to be a separate tax re-calculation done with the difference also provided back. Since it seems you had multiple segments on that ticket, then the EU261 compensation only applies to the relevant sector on which you were downgraded.
I would try a complaint to BA first because you might find their offer is materially better than the EU261 rights you’re granted, especially on shorter flights.
