Just booked a £40 return trip to Bratislava. Why wouldn’t you?!
Not wanting the accommodation to outprice the flight cost, I thought I’d look to get something for nothing.
Am Hilton Diamond, IHG Diamond and Radisson VIP. Any thoughts? The Doubletree and Crowne Plaza have lounges, but the Radisson Blu seems not to (?). But location of Radisson Blue seems better and will get free breakfast at all (assuming Crowne Plaza serve breakfast in the lounge…).
ive stayed at the crowne plaza there, i dont think it was particularly memorable, but decent enough and pretty low price, think I used points for one night and paid cash another night, both good value, good location too pretty central
I stayed at the Radisson Blu Carlton pre covid for my stag so. Not sure if it’s changed, but the breakfast was very good. The cocktail bar was also very good.
The location was absolutely second to none.
DT doesn’t have a lounge, at least it didn’t 6 years ago and can’t see anything online to indicate that it does now.
Location is not central but I walked to and from the train and bus station.
Noooooo Ryanair? Or Wizz?
Ryannair. Travelling alone, small bag under seat, airport nearby. I’m becoming a bit of a Ryannair fan alongside business/first when travelling with family. My dirty secret…

Oops. Seems you’re right – thanks for pointing that out! Not sure what I was thinking. Getting confused with the Vienna Hiltons I was looking at no doubt. Likely to do an overnight there. Maybe by boat…
You can catch the catamaran from Bratislava to Vienna, very easy and affordable

Booze is cheap enough in Bratislava that you don’t really need a lounge. It’s not like you’re in Dubai or Doha.
I’d go for the Radisson out of the options here, but I have Marriott Platinum so the Sheraton would also be in play.
Radisson. That’s an interesting thought. I’m only Gold Elite. But you’re right, alcohol cheap, as I’m assuming is food. Choices, choices. Really need to decide on whether it’s worth the pain of going to the not first choice hotel in pursuit of status or not – and if so which to chase. I have (literally) millions of Hilton Honors points but often I’m disappointed with their product 🤷
(credit card, obviously, before anyone asks…)
