Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Looking to get a one way ticket from either GIG,GRU,FOR in Brazil to Bangkok, ideally mainly in business sometime the first week of January. Is there a good value points program/route I should be looking at for availability? Anyone have any experience? Air France/KLM were stupid amounts of points (700k pp), are these likely to be my only options and just hope they reduce in points?

£2900 cash ticket on QR sounds infinitely better value than burning a huge amount of miles…

You fail to point out though that this fare is only available on the 01.20 departure on Jan 1st! Fair enough that it falls within the OP’s stated timeframe but any other QR flight from then on is nearer £5k for J….

As well as Qatar there’s also Emirates, Ethiopian, Iberia, LATAM & Turkish at least for your options. Good luck !

Just to add in terms of business rewards availability both QR and EK have availability but only if you search each sector separately and then it looks like arounds 250k miles + £1k taxes. TK has flights for 225k + taxes.

@Len Just to add that there is reward availability on QR & EK – approx. 250k miles + TFCs or TK at 225K etc. Need to look at sectors separately (e.g. GRU-DOH / GRU-DXB / GRU-IST then BKK after) to see the seats though. At least these are cheaper than Air France. Good luck!

If you have plenty of Virgin points Delta could potentially work via North America.

LATAM to N America and a US airline onwards should also work, but AA is hard to get, which would provide the onward connection.

    Also check Cathay with Avios.
