Buenos Aires hotel recommendations

Hi all

Can anyone make any hotel recommendations for Buenos Aires? First time visit so not clear on best areas to stay. Not fixed to any specific chain.

As far as areas are concerned, the best choices are really Recoleta which is an older smart area full of restaurants and smaller boutique shops. The Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau is lovely, particularly with its big garden but has become very expensive. The Alvear Palace is the ‘grande dame’ hotel and more reasonable plus has a nice roof terrace. The Mío is a very good smaller, modern and less expensive option. Possibly the Club Francés which is more traditional.

The other area is Palermo (SoHo) which is a much trendier and more bohemian area but these days is rather overrun with tourists (everything is designed and priced around them) and you risk being next to a bar or club that stays open until 5am which can be annoying unless you are in one of those places. The Legado Mítico and Miravida Soho are two good smaller options around Palermo.
