Buy with points then use upgrade voucher later date?

Hi,

Can I buy 2 return premium seats using points now…. Then use my upgrade voucher at a later date to potentially upgrade to upper for 2 people one way?

When I do look to use the voucher is the points cost the difference between what I secured premium for now and upper at time of booking? Or is the difference between premium and upper at time of booking?

Reason I ask is status is changing to Gold in Sep with BA status match so will be worth 150k. At the moment the premium seats with points are good value for money so want to lock these in now.

You shouldn’t have a problem doing this, though of course there’s no telling what the price of UC will be on any given day!

I booked PE last year then called to upgrade with the voucher which more than covered the points needed, this was all done on the same day but I can’t see any reason for VS doing it differently at a later date.

I think where it becomes more complicated is when you upgrade a cash booking with the voucher.
