Hopefully someone can help me here and offer some advice. I’m short of about 90,000 Avios at the moment that would allow me to make full use of 2 Barclays Cabin Upgrade vouchers. I’m maxxed out on Avios boost and can’t sign up for any credit cards to get more AVIOS. I note that Qatar is offerring a 50% bonus on purchased AVIOS (expires tomorrow). I’ve never used Qatar Airways before but have just registered with their Privilege Club. I can purchase 60,000 Avios for $1,350 and get 30,000 bonus so 90,000 costs $1,350 – so 1.5cents per Avios (I have a USD WISE account to pay for them so no exchange rate concerns) – this is the equivalent of about 1.17p per AVIOS. Is this the best deal out there at the moment? and if I link my BA Executive Club account presumably the purchase will transfer directly across? Are there are drawbacks or pitfalls I should be aware of? Many thanks for any answers or advice.
Have a read about half way down this article as to whether it’s good value

90k Avios is £1,599 direct from BA (so £0.0178 per Avios) and there is no forex issues?
All good & thanks for the replies – 3 emails a day from HFP and missed that one!.
Only frustation now is Qatar Airways and their damn OTP to log-in – never seems to work – a bit of googling seems to indicate that it is an ongoing problem!
If only you could buy them at 0.017p! 90k at BA’s price is 1.8p each – not worth it, especially as they also have bonus offers from time to time.
@PeteM, aren’t you a doctor or something 🤷♀️ 😂
How much are the flights for cash? I can’t see many scenarios where buying 90k avios to facilitate a Barclays upgrade booking would make sense.
@NorthernLass – 2 Business Class return tickets to Seattle – £6,357. or 2 Barclays upgrade vouchers – 270,000 Avios + £900 – so for me 90,000 Avios purchased for $1,350 is worth it.
