Can someone explain what is going on here…?

I suspect they are selling their gold status gift you get for GGL. But would be against the T&Cs and will be putting your and their exec club accounts at risk.
And for that price, you could do your own TP run to get your own gold. I don’t ever see anyone getting £3k+ value out of gold without flying enough to get status in their own right.
I’ve just achieved gold for £3k, had a few very fun trips getting there, and hopefully not at risk of getting my account closed …!
Interesting eBay page, I wonder if anyone ever goes for these “deals”, and what happens then? Presumably you have to give your account details to some complete stranger on the internet?
And atleast if you paid £3k for flights you would have hopefully gone on an actual holiday, some people are mad enough to do back to backs for a significant amount of the 1500 TP
I certainly did – to Spain, France, Portugal, Athens, Glasgow and Newcastle!
Don’t ever take up these offers (or for buying avios for that matter)
They are a red flag to BA and could lead to a rapid closure of your BA account and loss of status.
Gotta love the hard work they did with just adding “you” in blue on the card though!
Gold for 3k , was this using double teir point holidays or just very careful choice of destination or fares.
Well done. However if gold can be achieved so cheaply no wonder lounges are full
Gold for £3K with BAH double TP is not difficult, but it’s not Gold’s filling up the lounges it’s all the Silver’s. Easily achievable for a couple of 160TP CE trips with hotel or car, or even one trip with a domestic connection and not much more.
do not buy from that seller or his friend Gold xxxxx there brokers selling on behalf of someone… very dodgy business and I have been burned by them before trying to purchase avios . they have already had there orginal accounts shut down, it won’t be long till it happens again…STAY CLEAR

He’s the man, the man with the Midas touch
A spider’s touch
it won’t be long till it happens again…STAY CLEAR
Such a cold finger
Beckons you to enter his web of sin
But don’t go in
🙂
Gold member always makes me think of Austin Powers, yeah baby!
Apparently Midas was scared to go to the toilet… 😁 I’d say with BAH it’s easy to get Silver/Gold for less. Don’t really understand the ebay “process” but since you can’t transfer TP your name won’t be the same as your passport…?!

You aren’t transferring TPs
If you are GGL (Gold Guest List) you can nominate someone to get Gold status for a year.
That is what they are selling,
Isn’t this rather a risky strategy, having achieved GGL? I imagine BA don’t take very kindly to people trying to make money out of their status perks!
I certainly did – to Spain, France, Portugal, Athens, Glasgow and Newcastle!
A bit late to this thread, but the first thing that came in my head when I saw this was…
“Over the Hills and o’er the Main,
To Flanders, Portugal and Spain,
Queen Ann commands, and we’ll obey,
Over the Hills and far away”
🙂
