    Hi

Are you able to use a BC cabin upgrade for a BA flight leaving from USA to UK if the plane originated in the UK or does it always have to be on London outbound legs?

    Thanks

Sorry, you have to start your journey in the UK to use a Barclays voucher – can be UK-XXX and return for one person, or UK-XXX one way for two people.

As above, YOUR journey needs to start in the UK, it doesn’t matter where the plane’s been! But if you are doing a return trip to the US with the voucher, then your inbound leg will start there, so technically the answer is yes, lol.

Thanks for your help, want to travel outbound from uk using normal Avios redemption with econ + seats for two but wanted to book separate inbound return from US using the cabin upgrade from econ + to club W again for two as it’s a night flight. Don’t have two upgrade vouchers to use just the one unfortunately.

Presume this isn’t possible then to use the upgrade on the inbound leg from the US?

No sorry you can’t do that – with the Barclays voucher it’s either two pax one way outbound from UK or one pax return

You can do that, but you need to book it all at once as part of a return journey originating in the UK – you can’t add the to be upgraded return sector afterwards.

Thank you. Do you think I could book the outbounds first online then phone BA exec club to add the return to the reservation and apply the cabin upgrade when the seats open up 7 days later ?

He literally answered that question in the post you’re replying to!
