I was caught out with Amex, I thought it had been two years but it hadn’t and they didn’t offer the bonus welcome offer miles after I hit the threshold. My wife and I revolve through the different cards. Amex told me they can’t always see old cards, especially as I have had several. Is there a definitive way to find out from Amex when I last had a particular card? We revolve trough the Amex gold and ba ones.

They send a letter when you close your account, keeping hold of that is the only sure fire way to know.
If you’re playing the revolving cards game it’s up to you to make sure your admin is in order.
If they have a flag to deny you the bonus presumably they know you had a card…. I was told it just had to go to back office to research.
