Can an Ambassador Free Weekend Night be used at Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza?

Just realised that I have an Ambassador weekend voucher that expires at the end of July.
We normally go to Intercontinental London Park Lane, but we only went there recently, so we are looking to go somewhere else in the UK.
Do we have to go to an Intercontinental or can we use any IHG hotel brand?

No, just InterCon now. The loosening of the rules during covid has been reversed.

The George seems to limit availability to use the Ambassador free night (someone said that they only have a certain amount of rooms reserved for it but I can’t believe that many people are using the free night on peak weekends!)
Also, by the time you’ve got to EDI from the south (if that’s where you are), you could be in Dublin or Paris.Stayed at The George a couple of months ago using an IHG Premium Free night and two nights via Loyalty. (I have Diamond and lounge access) – we were welcomed with a prosecco at reception and in our room a couple of G & Ts. There doesnt seem to be a Lounge but we assume all rooms gain a bottle of wine each day as we did.
Staff lovely and we were given a room with a view. No grumbles.
Attached restaurant is mid priced but in the area are a number of restaurants with a heritage factor. Including one that the owner of Wetherspoons recently rated as his favourite.
As they say good value as little real money changed hands for a top class hotel in a capital.
