Im looking at an Avios redemption on malaysia Airlines through BA executive club.
I need to make the redemption through my partneres account as she has more avios than me.
She only has blue status so we cant choose the seats ?
What im wondering , once we have made the booking , if im on the booking, could i access it via Finnair and select the seats?
I have the status via the Royal Jordanian status match. Just wondering if there is a way of using that to book the seats
Its just that according to Seat Guru , there is a few economy seats that offer a little bit of extra leg room 🙂 every little helps on a 14 hour flight !
What status have you got? If BA Silver equivalent or above (or Bronze 7 days before travel), you should be able to select seats. I haven’t been keeping up with how people are doing it via Finnair, but their method should work for you.
But might it not be easier to create a HHA and you make the booking?
You can just add the RJ number for you when booking.
If you can’t select the seats right away (never tried to do that), just go to manage my booking after, it should work fine (just changed some seats on a booking made by me OH using a BAPP 2-4-1 and it was fine).
No need to involve any other companies here, unless you don’t add RJ number at time of booking.
Won’t answer the seat selection as that’s been answered but why are people still using Seatguru? That website is so out of date I wouldn’t rely on it as a basis for choosing seats on any airline.
Appreciate that Aerolopa might not show Malaysian seat plans but still wouldn’t rely on Seatguru.
That is true re Seat Guru!
There are loads of blogs out there about seats, google “Which are the best seats on …” then airline and aircraft type.
Thanks for the replies , i will add the RJ account number under my name when i make the booking. then try and amend through my account
I have not heard of Hola before , but thanks for the heads up ill give it a look now. Seatguru has been my go to up until now , just to get a general idea of the plane layout
Why don’t you create a household account? That way you will both contribute to the redemption (proportionately to how many avios you have), and you’ll be able to use your status to select seats, once you can.
And use aerolopa.com to see seat layouts, as SeatGuru is out of date.
