Can I link 2 flight reservations on American Airlines?

Next month I have turned a cancelled business trip into a tier point run for BA Tier Points in an attempt to get Gold Status for the first time. Unfortunately, it means for a total of 8 flights I have 2 bookings. Can I link the 2 reservations just incase there are delays/cancellations?

Booking No. 1: DUB-LHR-JFK then JFK-LHR-DUB 4 days later.
Booking No. 2: 4 internal US flights from JFK and returning to JFK within the 4 day period above.

I have an overnight in NYC when I land on day 1 on the outbound, so plenty of leeway if there is a delay. And a 10 hour stay at JFK following the 4 internal US flights before my night time transatlantic return leg on day 4.

No but AA have a semi official policy of helping if they’ve caused the delay. If you’re looking like you’ll have a problem try speak to agents in a AA lounge ASAP

Cheers. I’ve also drafted some back-up plans should one or more of the flights be delayed or cancelled on Booking 2. Hopefully, the ample layover time at JFK both inbound USA and outbound USA will be enough should a problem occur.
