I know this sounds silly, but I have found myself in a situation were I can book seats from MAN to LAS via Heathrow for two adults using my Avios and approx £1200 tax/fees etc. This would include the shuttle from MAN to LHR. I only have 125K avios and this appears to be a way to “burn” the avios on something I feel offers value.
For the return I have limited Virgin miles and a credit card voucher. Could I book Virgin reward seats from LAS to LHR paying only 65K miles for myself, utilize the voucher for my wife and then the associated taxes/fees. (LAS to LHR rewards seem to be freely available at the moment).
I then buy the 1 way shuttle back to MAN for approx £60 each.
Help appreciated.
Yes, you can do this. Essentially, you’ll be starting a return journey from the LAS. Ask them to price up the BA flight that they’ll sell you to get to MAN, too, to avoid the cash element. You can then one-way back to LAS at some point before the voucher expires, if you want.
