Can my wife apply for Business Plat using my Limited Company?

I am the sole employee / director of my LTD company. I was wondering if my wife could apply for a Business Platinum Amex using my companies bank account. She isn’t an employee / director of my company.

I would apply myself, but I don’t qualify for the bonus until Jan 2025, and I want the card benefits for a holiday in August.

I think you’ve answered your own question really, if your wife has nothing to do with the company, she can’t apply as if she does

@Matt – yes, that’s my next step as it helps me draw money from the company. @executiveclubber I was just wondering if Amex actually cared if my wife is involved or not, or if seeing a business account is all they are bothered about.

Like many things with AMEX They don’t care until they do.

Although it will help if she is made a company director – or, possibly, company secretary – she would only need to be a shareholder to enable drawdown.

Share allocation doesn’t have to be equal, either, if you need to distribute profits differently to keep her income within allowance boundaries

Thanks. I only set the company up a couple of months ago, but set up with type A and B shares, to help with dividends. Defo will go down shareholder route.
