Forums Payment cards American Express Can the Amex Platinum supplementary card get the dining benefits

  • 7 posts

    Hi HfP community.

    Quick question please;

    Can the Amex platinum supplementary card use the dining benefits i.e. I am not travelling this year but the supplementary card holder is. I have 1x overseas/foreign dining benefit which I have enrolled in on my main amex platinum card. Can the supplementary card holder pay at an eligible restaurant in mexico and I get the £150 creditted back to my account?

    Thanks in advance!

    I don’t believe they can, as the terms explicitly state “Supplementary Cardmembers are not eligible for this benefit”

    No. Only on main card.

    Depending if you trust your supplemental card holder and you can be without your personal card for the length of their holiday, you could always let them take your card and PIN and make sure you don’t lose the credit.
