A cursory glance doesn’t reveal anything about whether gold status gives you extra cancellation rights, but I imagine they will tell you one way or the other if you call the gold line!
No benefits from being gold. Fare rules apply so likely only tax refunds
Used to be worse – these fares tend to be changeable now, in the past they’ve been completely inflexible

They usually don’t charge the extra phone fee for cancellations if you phone to do it if gold but that’s about it,
If you do cancel you’ll get back the proper taxes and airport fees.
Given there is an other month or so before travel it might be worth waiting to see if there is a cancellation which would get you a full refund.
thank you everyone spoke to BA gold line very helpful agent , explained as a family member is unwell they have frozen ticket value until October next year so it can be used for any other travel.
