Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Cancel avios and voucher upgrade booking

  • 46 posts

Basically we were wanting to book a Avios booking and use our Barclaycard upgrade voucher.
At the moment on the route and dates there is only premium economy available
My plan was to set a seatspy alert and hope club becomes available if not will just sit in premium but would prefer club.
If and when club becomes available what is the procedure for changing the booking ,i dont want to cancel the premium and then find out there is no club avaliable?

    thanks

I’m not totally clear what you mean here but I don’t know if it’s possible to upgrade a booking you’ve already used the BC voucher for so maybe check that first? Otherwise you’d need to cancel the whole thing, hope your voucher came back quickly and start from scratch.
What route/date is it? People here may be able to give some idea of how likely it is that CW seats will appear.

Hi yes the route would be lhr-las next April ,so I would need to cancel the whole booking get the avios and voucher refunded and hope in the meantime the club seats are still there?

Grr – just lost a whole answer because I didn’t realise I was logged out!

Basically – when in April as it’s school Easter holidays for the first 3 weeks and possibly also major events bringing a lot of people into LAS? There are 2 x J seats on the 7th though, which I think is Easter Sunday. I would not count on extra seats becoming available and would look at different dates or destinations if you really want to travel in business class. There’s also some availability left for May and June.

The BC voucher is still quite new, so you’d probably need to call and ask if they can upgrade a booking you’ve already made. Also I think if you’re booking a full return trip for 2, you need to call anyway as the system thinks you’re trying to upgrade both legs and that you haven’t got enough vouchers to do this.
