Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Cancellation of Return Leg Only (outbound not yet flown)

  • 5 posts

    Hi all – quick question:
I need to cancel the return leg of a 2-4-1 booking I’ve made (meaning that the voucher use will be inefficient but so be it I guess).
Will this require the agent to cancel the whole thing (and therefore maybe not get my outbound reward seats back) or can they just strip the return out and refund the relevant number of Avios? I’m guessing I’ll need to pay the £35 change fee per person as well (although maybe get a 50% rebate on the RFS payment that has already gone out)?
I did try to ring to ask but had to give up after what felt like forever…
    Thanks!
    Charlie

Yes you can just cancel the return. I’ve done it recently. It had to be sent for repricing, but the avios refunded and some of the cost. Mine was further than a RFS, so don’t know how that would work.

To be on the safe side, couldn’t you cancel the return leg after you have flown outbound?

If the flight is before 30th September 2022 then yes as it’s covered under BWC

If after then I think you can’t cancel after the outbound has been flown and you don’t get a partial refund. (happy to be corrected on that)

We are getting to the stage where people really do need to give flight dates as the end of BWC is only 4 1/2 months away so posters get the best advice.
