I have a flight booked with Virgin miles on Air France. Does anyone know is the cancellation window (for a fee, but with miles redeposited) up to 24 hours, or up to seven days?
I am reading this as 24 hours, but for some reason I was sure it was more?
https://help.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/policies/terms-and-conditions/flying-club.html
(Section 4.2.2)
I read 4.2.2 as referring to VAA-operated services, whereas 15.1 is the section for partner airlines. 15.1 only refers to a fee for date changes – there’s nothing specifically in there about cancellation. 15.1 also says to consult individual airline partner pages on virginatlantic.com for further details – the specific page for Air France is https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/in/en/flying-club/airline-partners/air-france/air-france-spend-points.html. The small print at the bottom says nothing about cancellation. I can’t see anything in the Conditions of Carriage, either.
Have you called VAA? What did they say?
When booking with Delta as the partner, the final screen of the booking page before payment detailed the cancellation terms in the fare/ticket rules box in ALL CAPS.
it’s the standard 24 hours for all redemption bookings no?
When cancelling a partner redemption – if the taxes & charges are below £30/$50, do you just forfeit that, or do you have to pay the cancellation fee on top? thanks

I would imagine this is at the behest of the operating airline. If VS is charged, expect to pay. If not, you might get away with it. Easiest route is to call and find out.
Can someone confirm if it’s 24hrs before the flight to get full refund minus £30 for partner redemptions? I’ve got a backup flight that needs cancelling <7 days if plans A goes ahead

Now you’re asking! From memory, yes, but I hate saying that, and not having a source to quote from… but I can’t find one. I’ll do some more digging.
Same question as the OP – planning to use Virgin Miles to book award on AF flight. What are the cancellations rules? All miles refunded? What about the cash element. Any recent experiences on this would be greatly appreciated!

I recently booked KLM which AFAIK has the same rules — and I may actually have to cancel on Thursday due to illness 🙁
You get the miles and fees back, minus a cancellation fee, I think it was 50 or 60 euros, (the booking was for two in business). 24 hours notice required or you loose it all.
