Hi, had BA flight LHR to HND cancelled and flew via 2 stops Helsinki and Osaka with Finair and Japan Airways. Flights were booked with Amex 2for1 voucher. I had read somewhere that the Avios should be refunded but BA have said that is not the case. Can someone clarify, please. Thanks for your help.
Was the rerouted flight you took provided by BA and in the same class as you booked? If so you wouldnt be getting anything refunded as you were given a flight.
Yes, if you accepted a re-route instead of a refund, you can’t have both.
Why would you expect a refund?
Depending on the reason for the cancellation and how much the timings of the original and rebooked flights arrival and departure changed you may be able to claim some cash compensation.
