Cancelled BA Blue Card then get issued a 241 voucher

Something very odd has just happened. Closed my BA blue card the other week as it had been dormant for the last month.
Receive the congratulations email today to say I’ve earned the companion voucher.
Thought it was sent in error but I’ve logged in to my BA account and it’s in there (valid until June next year).
I’ve hardly been spending on it and certainly not at the £15k level now needed to trigger one of these.

Anyone else had this??

Closed the same card at end May. Not had any such email, and no magic voucher in my account.

If you haven’t earned it then unlikely you’d be safe using it, the risk of it being withdrawn without notice could spoil any planned trip.
