Cancelled rewards flight by accident

I was a donut and requested a voucher for the wrong booking reference – my rewards redemption 241 for next year.

I haven’t received anything yet but I understand this will arrive as a refund and 241 voucher returned. My assumption is that BA won’t be able to do anything about it now, even if I were able to reach them – wondered if anyone had a similar issue?

What’s the expiry date on the voucher – could you rebook when it returns to your account (within a couple of days IME)? Otherwise people don’t seem to have had much luck appealing to BA to extend expiry dates but YMMV.

I got lucky – “unfortunately your booking isn’t eligible and we can’t exchange it for a voucher”. This must be because it’s outside of the current dates covered by book with confidence policy.
