Cancelling Barclays Voucher Booking

Hi there,

We’re due to fly to TFS first week of August. There’s a possibility we can’t go, due to medical reasons.

What do I need to know about cancelling an Avios booking which uses an upgrade voucher? I understand the fee is £35 per person – is that still the case? Will I get the upgrade vouchers back? Is there a minimum time before the flight I can cancel?

You need to cancel more than 24hrs before. You’ll lose your pound but otherwise receive the Avios and your voucher back (assuming not expired)

I once had to wait 12 days for the voucher to be manually re-added so careful if you intend to re-book straight away

How was it booked and how much cash did you pay? Did you use the voucher for 2 people one-way or one person then book the other person on a separate ticket?

With avios bookings you generally only lose 50p per person per sector at the moment.

With the voucher you’d only be paying £1 cash element anyway, so you’d only lose that.

Thanks for the info. I used 2 vouchers for upgraded return for 2 people. Paid all Avios plus £1 or whatever it was.

So I’d get the points and vouchers back but lose the pound? Is there an additional cancellation fee or just the pound?

Should just be the £1, but you will be advised what your refund will be as you go through the process.

Yes to all of the above (just £1). Noting your vouchers will be returned with their original expiry dates.
