Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Cancelling cash ticket – FTV question

  • 344 posts

I would like to cancel a cash booking in J this June under BA’s book with confidence policy. I understand the voucher I will be given comes with restrictions, for example, I won’t be able to use it to pay for the cash component of a reward seat booking, is that correct?
What happens if the flight I would like to book costs less than the value of the voucher?
Why do some people get an FTV and others an eVoucher?
Is one free to spend either on a BA Holiday booking and can they be both used online?
    Thanks!

My understanding was that BA is not issuing FTVs anymore, only eVouchers.

To your other questions, did you read the FAQs? All the answers are there.

What happens if you book a flight that’s cheaper than the value of an eVoucher?

We’ll issue a new eVoucher covering the difference. You’ll see this new eVoucher value before you pay for a booking, where you’ll also be able to choose who receives it.

The new eVoucher recipient can be any passenger on the new booking and will be issued to their chosen email address.

What can you pay for with an eVoucher?

You can use an eVoucher to pay for flights. You can’t currently use it to pay for a BA Holidays booking online or extras, such as seating or baggage.
