Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Cape Town Reward seat availability 3rd Nov 23

Hi all, just wondering if anyone could help with this query… I waited patiently for the stroke of midnight to fall last night (13th Nov into 14th Nov) so as to be able to book reward seats on any London to Cape Town flight departing on the 3rd Nov 2023 (355 days in advance). As midnight arrived, the option to select the 3rd Nov as the flight date was not availability to me for any destination. Does anyone know why this was the case? I am located in a time zone 6 hours behind, so it was 6pm for me, but 12am in the UK. Also, there has been NO availability whatsoever for the flights to Cape Town for this 3rd Nov date, despite there being 14 seats per flight being released. Is something going on due to the extra flight per day to Cape Town being released recently maybe? Any clues or answers would be useful. Thank you

There are still two club world seats available on the Gatwick flight and WT+ on both Heathrow flights.

I can’t help with your time zone issue but I can see availability on LHR-CPT for both flights on the 3rd November. Both have 8 in economy, 2 in WT+ and zero in J – undoubtedly those went overnight.

If you still can’t select 3rd November and are happy travelling in the back of the plane then I’d suggest calling the Executive club and explain the issues so they don’t charge you the off line booking fee.

Yes weirdly the BA rearward flight search calendar follows your computer’s time zone as opposed to GMT. So need to adjust your computer’s clock to UK time or even better to Mainland European time (ie one hour ahead of GMT). This means come GMT 2355hrs when your are pre-filling all the boxes you would already have your desired date to select. If the computers is on GMT, then you would need to refresh the page at GMT 0000 to get the new date to be selectable…. and every second counts for some routes as you know.
