I keep being sent Barclaycard cashback offers but you can’t register for cashback offers with the Mastercard as it is not a Visa. Am I missing something?

This is quite disappointing. The 19 questions about the new Barclaycards hfp article states that:

“Will there be ‘card linked offers’ (eg ‘get a £5 credit for spending £20 at Mr Mop’)?
Yes, you can access retailer discounts through the Barclays app.”

I know it’s not possible to link the Avios card with barclaycard visa rewards (https://cashbackrewards.uk.barclaycard/). But in the barclaycard app I’ve found a section for retailer offers on my account:

Click on transfers & offers >> Swipe right twice to “purchase offer”. I then get an error stating that “We’re sorry! We’re experiencing technical issues at the moment. Please try again later”.

So can someone clarify this for me: are there no retailer offers available with the avios plus card (contrary to the hfp article), or are they just not working on my account?

I don’t seem to have any offers at all, unless I’m not looking in the right place.

They aren’t great. 10% off at Morrisons and Costa for me at the moment – otherwise pretty poor quality offers compared to Amex etc.

@maximus Firstly, the ‘card linked offers’ mentioned in the HfP article isn’t what you think it is. It’s regarding Barclays’ Loyalty Cards feature, which is pretty much just a glorified way of storing your existing loyalty cards and it being used automatically when you use your Barclaycard.

Secondly, the “purchase offer” is again nothing to do with cashback offers – that is regarding 0%/low interest rate card purchases for a certain length of time.

In conclusion, there is no existing cashback scheme for Barclaycard Mastercards.
