I think the filtered tap water is genius – stops people “stealing” water for the plane, Bean-counters 1 : passengers 0 . They’ll say it’s for environmental reasons but we all know.
As for champagne, always asked at LGW and always got. “They can take away our metal cutlery, but they’ll never take……”
The U.K. has some of the safest tap water in the world, the commercial filter taps are high quality and the filter absolutely will be changed like clockwork as per the manufacturers specifications that’s par for course for any facility like Heathrow … the water quality will be regularly checked too.
Who needs to cart round bottles of “mineral water”
Most champagne is garbage but in my experience BA serve a decent one in all their lounges
On the topic of champagne… I absolutely love that Air France serve it (and do top up glasses throughout) in economy (long haul).
If Air France can serve Champagne through all cabins, why can’t BA serve English Sparkling throughout all cabins?

It’s often Heidsieck & Co Monopole Blue Top 🙂

I’d prefer them to upgrade the CE champagne before offering English Sparkling to everyone! (But have you tried the one they’ve got in J/F atm? Not great!)

Lols… I was sort of half jesting, as I know it is very unlikely to happen. I haven’t flown long haul or short haul J with BA since Nairobi last November. The champs then was perfectly fine, but can’t remember what label it was.
BA could learn a thing or two generally from Air France. Though I do think BA staff are in the round, much more friendly.

You’re right. Short haul champagne tastes like battery acid. They used to have Pommery. Bring it back!
Although AF downgraded some of their shorthaul J meals to be a sandwich in a box, so be careful what you wish for!

Garbage. But no not always.
