Change date of reward flight at airport?

We are booked to fly SFO to London in Upper (on a reward ticket) on a Sunday in March. We would prefer to fly back a few days earlier.
No availability on line.
If I go to the airport in SFO, is there a chance that I can change the date (once the airport “has control” of the flights)?

No – you’ll need to call in advance of the ex-SFO departure. If there’s no online availability, then calling won’t produce any (unless you want to use a Gold seat release, if you have access to them, but they’re generally not providing value).

There are a few reasons why this is a ‘no’, but they boil down to outpost airport staff are rarely ticket-trained, and simply rotate around between uniforms – not uncommon in some places to spot the same person in DL uniform, then in to VS for the afternoon.

What you can do, however, is call VS and ask them to check availability on VS codeshares on DL metal. That might open up more options for you, but you’ll get a service standard difference, of course.
