Change WTP booking on upgrade voucher to Club World – is it possible?

I think I know the answer to this from the main article about Barclays Upgrade Voucher bookings but…

I have a WTP booking made using the Barclays Upgrade Voucher. Availability has just come up on the outbound in CW.

Can I call BA and change my outbound-only flight and pay the extra Avios?

If not, then I have to cancel, rebook and run the risk of no inbound WTP availability?

Should be possible as long as the call centre agent is competent. Work out before you call what you expect to pay in extra Avios and a guess of the taxes so you can tell if they are in the right ball park.
