Apologies if it’s just me who missed this! Apparently as of May 28th IB economy redemptions booked on BA.com no longer include a checked bag:

I assume this is to bring it into line with the IB básica fare as BA’s IT can’t deal with more than one type of economy award booking?
The free checked bag plus seat selection still seems to be there if you have the relevant status.
And – booking via BA is considerably cheaper, on short-haul redemptions anyway, though I don’t know if this is deliberate or not.
Actually the pricing is just weird. BA and IB seem to charge the same award prices on single routes, but if you book connecting flights, e.g. VLC-MAD-MAN, the price via BA is about £30 less for the cash element than IB is charging. Which is not what you’d expect!
