After realising that BA LGW flights may not be released until possibility Aug – I decided not to wait for this – I can cope with booking at 1am in
the morning – but with not a definite date of when availability may appear is very difficult to cope with.
The flights that I did want to book LGW/ACE/LGW (Club) – I have booked instead LHR/MAD/ACE – LHR/MAD in BA Club – MAD/ACE in Economy via phone call to BA to addon to PNR as Club was not available on Iberia express via BA (return not in range yet)
If I was lucky enough to be able to become aware of when the LGW/ACE/LGW flights become available – probably checking BA umpteen times a day as flights are obliviously not on seatspy yet – do I book online (I do have enough Avios) then phone BA to swap everything over including the 241 voucher – as I would not want to cancel original flights incase I can’t secure the LGW flights quick enough (realise I would be charged a fee)
Thanks
No, you can’t swap them – you’d need to cancel the original flights and rebook once you got your 241 back, as that can’t be applied retrospectively.
There really is no need to check multiple times a day, once will be enough.
And it’s highly unlikely people will be up at 1am trying to book this sort of route,
BTW cancelling this ticket should LGW become available could affect whether you get the 2-4-1 back if it’s expiry date has passed when you do cancel.
Also how did you manage to book for next summer when the BA booking window had barely reached May!

How quickly would the voucher appear back in account?
How quickly would voucher appear back in my account.
Outward date – 29 Apr.
Voucher well within expiry date
Thanks
Usually it’s instant. The only time I’ve had to chase one is when it was an old-style one from the pandemic which had been cancelled, then transferred to a voucher, then returned as a standard 241, then used and cancelled again! But you should be ok as long as the 241 is still in date, as per the comment above.
