Reason I was checking is because I was planning on doing exactly what you mention and booking the legs separately and then asking BA to refund half the avios on the return – but obviously don’t want to risk the request being refused.

Doing the quick sums, returning from Bogota avoids the mileage issue but I may just play it safe and call.
