Changing Avios Plus card

Hello,

I’ve met the spend target to get the bonus points on the Avios Plus card. The points are pending and they get transferred to my BA account first week of November.

If I look to change my Barclaycard now is there a risk they might not award me the points? As I don’t plan to pay for the Avios Plus card going forward.

Also, if I do change to another Barclaycard do they refund you the avios plus card fee pro rata?

I would leave it till the points post as it’s only a few days, just to be on the safe side.

Isn’t the fee charged monthly anyway?

Yes that’s right, the fee is charged monthly. It’s also around the same time as the points get transferred to the BA account.

I’ll play it safe and wait for them to post.

What card are you changing to? If the free Avios card then you are still in the Avios ‘family’ so no risk of your points going missing.

Most likely the Rewards card so I can use abroad with no fx fee. I already have AMEX Gold which serves the same purpose as the free Avios card.
