Changing dates on 241 voucher

I’m a newbie to the 241 companion voucher- I’ve just redeemed it this morning for flights in April/May next year and realised I’ve booked the wrong dates and need to push the trip back a week or two- whoops- I’m not really sure on what to do now.

Im assuming I phone BA but I’m not sure what I can ask them for yet as the flights aren’t yet available as it’s 355 days ahead or do I ask change the outbound only to E.g 7th May 2023 as it’s 355 from now but that’s when my return is booked for and then phone again for in 10 days time when I want my return leg?

What the best way to manage this error and get the flights and dates I want?

Since it’s not possible to just change the dates (you need to cancel and then hope rewards are available for your new dates to book) and for your travel dates the £35 cancellation fee applies (well outside of BWC) I’d wait until your new dates become available otherwise you get hit by several £35 fee each time you book and cancel incrementally.

I think if you cancel now within 24 hours of booking they don’t charge the fee.

I was looking at the Ts and Cs for avios bookings as I have a one I now won’t be taking and it says they can be changed, subject to change fee of course?

Worth having a look if you can do this via MMB, I never seem to be able to due to domestic connections. Obviously you’ll have to wait until the flights are released and hope that there will be avios availability.
