Good morning from Tanah Gajah resort nearby to Ubud, Bali.
We checked in here 2 nights ago on a Luxury escapes package which was cheaper than Expedia or direct booking and includes lots of perks like USD300 to spend at the spa, 1 time hot air balloon ride and either daily lunch or dinner from a fixed menu. The report is superb and we have had an active morning that started at 6.30am with the hot air balloon ride followed a trip to Kuber ATV quad biking about 30 mins away where we had a fabulous time zipping through the rice terraces and a local waterfall.
The resort is absolutely beautiful – I would highly recommend it to couples and families.

    ‘morning folks

I don’t normally get agitated about booking at -355 so haven’t done it before. I need to nab 2 one way, reward with Barclaycard voucher Club long hauls for Sunday July 6th next year and the time is now upon me. I think the seats are released at midnight on the 14th, i.e. tonight? This is not Sydney or Singapore so I don’t expect to get trampled but the date is fairly critical. Log on at midnoght? Call some overseas booking office? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Calling or online is a matter of opinion, but it’s midnight GMT, so 0100 BST.

If you call, the CS agent will hold the seats until the booking is confirmed, booking online seats are confirmed once payment has been made.

Calling sounds like the way. Is there a favoured number to ring in the middle of the night?

if you really set on a single, specific date, then I’d suggest you have a read of this thread – https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/booking-return-leg-with-companion-voucher/page/71/ – but the short answer is USA / Japan / Australia and also be online on your computer with payment details saved ideally. Then try to book both by phone and online

Depends on the destination? There are threads on hfp on this.

Good to know there are some good deals on Luxury Escapes, I often mean to check the website when I am holiday planning and usually forget… I suppose its best to hold off now until the AMEX offer comes back around and I can stack !
